I have a pretty top of the line computer I bought and assembled myself a couple months ago, and it plays other games such as FEAR 2 and such on very high quality. It seems however with Mass Effect that it's very slow and choppy as it focuses around my character and stays that way. But when I change the resolution in the settings to any other (even one that's higher) then the game runs great, as if just resetting the graphics fixes this. I have to do this every time I start the game to have it run properly. I have heard it has something to do with PowerDVD but I don't have it. I'm sure it's not my hardware that's the problem, but I am looking into viruses or spyware as a possibility. I have the 1.01 patch with Bring Down The Sky, and playing it with a 9800 GTX+ on Vista (UAC is off) with a Core 2 Duo at 3 GHz. I am downloading the latest driver for the GPU currently. Thanks for your time! Why is Mass Effect very slow?
Once you update your 9800 GTX+ it should run fine. Happy gaming. Why is Mass Effect very slow?
Because the user is.
