Problem with bioware games?

the following games i have tried to play and will not run on my desktop computer:

mass effect

mass effect 2

dragon age origins ultimate

dragon age 2

they all come up will the following error:

'Error: switch from current encoding to specific encoding not supported.

Line 1, Column 40 in inter XML settings.'

my pc specifications are:

intel core 2 duo 3.0GHz

4GB Ram

500GB harddrive

nvidea GTX 470 1.25GB

windows 7 ultimate 64bit sevice pack 1

i have contacted ea and bioware and they both say the same thing which is their games are not tested on 64bit systems, which doesn't really help tbh.

10 points to the person who can give me step by step instructions or point me to a fix or patch for the games

also both dragon age games are bought through steamProblem with bioware games?
Greetings Devilsrcomin,

Ive had a problem that seems to be very similar to yours. The only differences being computer specs and the fact I did not purchase any of my titles through steam. As far as I can tell this issue mostly effects 64bit users who at one point had installed any of the above mentioned games and have since deleted them. Upon trying to install or reinstall one of those titles the XML error surfaces. Searching other forums brought up many users with the same issue, with just as many "solutions", none of which worked for me.

The only way Ive been able to get those titles to load is creating a new windows admin user account and doing a fresh install of those titles under that new user. The games worked fine under that new user, but whenever I would try to play under the original user the XML error would pop up. Hopefully this works for you, and hopefully EA and/or Bioware has this issue resolved for sw:tor.Problem with bioware games?
In response to BW, i play ME1 and ME2 on my computer just fine, and it's win7 64bit, home premium.

Your specs definitely aren't the issue, they're far above recommended specs.

Since it's all of the games, i would check stuff like Gfx drivers first. Make sure everything's up to date, just to be safe.

I'm not sure what XML settings that error message refers to... I would check on the BW forums, There are some really helpful people on there.Problem with bioware games?
this may sound stupid but 64 bit computers tend to have problems wen it comes to gaming...its daft i know but they should test these games on 64 bit systems aswell. the current system specifications are great im not a big pc gamer but you should be able to download special files that will see you around this problem :)
