Also i've heard there is some problems in the ps3 version which includes save corrupts, ps3 freeze, etc. Did bioware release a patch to solve these problems or not?

ME2 is defiantly worth the buy. I didn't have problems with it freezing or save corrupts. The best part of the Mass Effect series is that it "continues" your story line from game to game. So when ME3 comes out, it will take your saved data from ME2 and continue the story line from there. Meaning, if someone died in your ME2 game, then they will be dead in ME3. I own ME2 for the PS3 and I gotta say it's one hell of a game! It's worth buying brand new.. that way you get a code to unlock a bunch of special features that Xbox had to pay for. weeeeeeee
